King of the Hill! (not a clan project)

Post by Spirit Soldier on Tue Sep 07, 2010 3:25 pm

OK so this keep getting bumped up in skulltag, and I really haven't given this ANY ATTENTION AT ALL!!!!! So it's about time that I do. I'm not guna deal with the coding bugs until I have 10 maps complete and ready to rock. In saying that, I have asked permission to steal some maps.

If Joseph consents, the new map line up should look like this.

Maps
KOTH01 Block Fort of DooM (a simple Block Fort remake with Doom theme as a sort of tutorial map) - Spirit Soldier
3. Waterloo Water Park - Joseph Hicks

3. Fortress - Spirit Soldier - 50%
4. MS - Receiving - Nightfall
5. Hell's Building (Perfect Dark G5 Building Remake) - Spirit Soldier

6. Archives (not a Golden Eye remake) - Spirit Soldier - 60%
7. The Shop - Spirit Soldier - 90%
8. Furnace - Spirit Soldier - 90%
9. Warehouse - Spirit Soldier 50%

10. Installation - Joseph Hicks

Most of these maps are complete or nearly complete. Which will speed this along greatly.

See old post here
Spoiler:
Fucking right I have decided to go through with a project that is not MS centered. It King of the Hill! KotH fucking rocks shit up. Essentially, these are the rules (for those unfamiliar with KotH).

There are a variety of designated sectors that are the hills. There is only one hill at a time though, and it will be highlighted in green. To capture the hill, simply stroll into the sector. It will highlight according to your team colour. Successfully hold the hill with no enemies in it for a certain amount of time to score a point. For every team mate you have in the hill, you score 1 point. When there is an enemy in the hill, the time is stalled until the enemy leaves the sector or is killed. When a hill is captured, it rotates to another sector at random. It could even be the sector you just captured. Make a dash to the hill and repeat until point limit achieved! That's King of the Hill.

Alright I'm looking to do 10 maps to start. I have 2 done already (essentially; touch ups probably required), and I'll do fucking all the maps if need be. But I would LIKE some assistance. MAPS TO BE BUILT IN UDMF FORMAT and I would like to stick with a general theme of Doom; hell, busted up space stations, e4 kind of shit, whatever. Nothing too outrageously fancy.

King of the Hill Teamgame

Coding: Nightfall has volunteered
Music: Exciter has volunteered for some midi work
Announcer: I got that shit covered
Weapon Modification: Eric has volunteered

Excellent

Looks like something that would really rock with a formidable amount of players.

Looking for beta-testing. Very Happy

Updated the first post. Chances are looking quite high I will be the only one making maps for this.

Eric has volunteered to help me with some weapon modifications.

Pistol: more powerful sounding. Invis rail. Damage 20hp per shot unarmoured.
SG: range of 1024 units. More compact for vicious close range damage. 10 puffs for half of SSG I suppose.
Chaingun: Slightly stronger and slightly more accurate in the mid-long range.
Plasma rifle: Overheats
